Example:

Italy, Here I Come!

If I had time and money, I would go to Italy. I would really like to visit this country. I already went to Venice, but only for 3 days. It was not enough!

When I was in Spain, I met Veronica, who is from Bari, in Southern Italy. We really get along well. She is funny, simple and sweet. We still write to each other. I promised to visit her one day… But it’s not only for her that I want to go to Italy! I know that this country has a lot of cultural attractions. The Roman Empire left impressive monuments like the Coliseum in Rome. Italians also have an excellent reputation for cinema, fashion, and for cooking!

Another friend of mine, who is from Saint-Casimir, just got back from a trip in Italy. She said she loved it! She lived a perfect life for a couple of weeks...

When I go to Italy, I will visit museums and monuments. I will also watch good repertoire movies. I will eat good pizza and pastas. Above all, I intend to eat ice cream cones everyday!

Assignment 2: Essay- New Activity in Physical Education Classes

Instructions :

Using the plan you did in class, write an essay on this topic:
Try to convince your school to integrate a new fitness activity in the Physical Education classes.

Word count: minimum 150 words.

Deadline:
5-01: November 2nd, 2009
5-02: October 27th, 2009
5-03: October 30th, 2009
5-04: October 28th, 2009

Model:

Yoga is a very old form of exercising that combines breathing techniques, stretching and meditation. I believe that we should integrate yoga lessons in Physical Education classes in secondary school.

Yoga lessons would help teenagers manage their stress. During the teenage years, a lot of students live very stressful situations. Social pressure, school, work and family relationships are sometimes hard to deal with. Physical Education classes mean to teach healthy habits. Practising yoga would help students relax and find their personal balance.

In addition, Yoga could appeal to students who do not really like sports. Physical Education classes also mean to let teenagers try out different sports. Everyone has tried soccer, basketball and volley-ball once. However not many teenagers have tried yoga. This new activity could appeal to some of the students who prefer more low-paced, relaxing sports.

Finally, I suggest that yoga lessons be integrated in Physical Education classes in order to help teenagers manage their stress. Considering that healthy life habits are mainly taught in Physical Education classes, maybe we should consider integrating other topics such as healthy eating and sleeping habits.
